Carissa

Carissa

Carissa is a French Plantation style estate created by Mustique's primary architect and builder since 1969, Arne Hasselquist. Inspired by the discovery of an old foundation for an 18th century sugar plantation on Mustique, Hasselquist and his wife, Anita, have recreated an intriguing period house with shaded verandahs and open living spaces that are cleverly cooled by the trade winds. Spacious, air conditioned bedrooms with baths en-suite; a modern, elegantly-equipped kitchen; a large swimming pool; and bountiful herb and flower gardens compliment this classic house. Situated high on a hill on Mustique's fertile west side, the view of tropical sunsets is spectacular.
